We are seeking a highly organised and motivated Sales Executive to join our dynamic and growing events team based in London Bridge. The ideal candidate will have great communication, administrative, sales and customer service skills. You will support the marketing of our training courses by phoning leads and responding to incoming delegate enquiries.

The Knowledge Exchange Group produces timely conferences, public policy briefings, interactive workshops and practical training across 3 brands – westminsterinsight.com, seneddinsight.com and holyroodinsight.com

This role would suit an administrator or customer service executive with a desire to work in delegate sales, the right candidate will have a good attitude and a desire to learn and develop within the role.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage incoming delegate sales from initial enquiry through to booking and payment.
  • Build customer relationships to ensure customer satisfaction and encourage repeat business.
  • Account management.
  • Troubleshoot customer inquiries and provide solutions.
  • Build a rapport with potential clients to convert incoming enquires into confirmed bookings.
  • Develop strategies to increase sales g. emails to previous customers, pro-actively sourcing new business, effective upselling.
  • Handle administrative tasks such as processing payments, and inputting bookings on the system.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records of sales activities.
  • Attending team/events – occasional travel in the UK may be required.

Requirements:

  • Experience or a desire to work in sales

The Role:           

The Knowledge Exchange Group requires a training coordinator to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be an organised and efficient team player. You will be reliable, comfortable with technology and have good commercial skills. You’ll have some experience of events or training, however we will provide full training and development to ensure you succeed in this role.

Responsibilities:

You will identify, develop, market and deliver training courses, ranging in size from 5-50 attendees. You will collaborate closely with the Director, marketing, product and operations teams to ensure commercial success. To include:

  • Developing and managing relationships with trainers and industry bodies
  • Researching marketing, partnership and accreditation opportunities.
  • Agreeing and negotiating trainer fees, within fixed budgets.
  • Arranging advertising through social media, newsletters, links and website promotion.
  • Constructing email campaigns, building course websites, data segmentation, list pulling.
  • Liaising with trainers to create course copy and materials. Chasing speaker biographies, course materials, logos, and presentations.
  • Sending and coordinating pre-event questionnaires
  • Ensuring courses are CPD certified.
  • Sending joining instructions to delegates, delivering customer and technical support, by phone, email or online.
  • Post-course follow up – to distribute evaluation forms and analyse results. To record costs and process speaker invoices.
  • For online training ONLY – Digital platform management – To set up webinars on Zoom or Hopin and arrange tech checks.
  • For face-face training (ONLY) – on the day management of the event, including registration. Sourcing meeting rooms and A/V. Arranging travel and accommodation, within budget.
  • Client liaison for inhouse training.

Other

  • To assist with the operations at large-scale events, if required.
  • Occasional travel within the UK may be required.
  • To undertake any other duties in keeping with this job role and to support the wider business.

Personal Attributes and Experience:

  • Six months work experience in a professional setting.
  • Evidence of previous events/training experience.
  • Educated to degree level, minimum 2:1 or similar
  • Excellent IT skills e.g. Microsoft Office, Zoom.
  • Previous use of a virtual event platform (desirable), basic graphic design skills (desirable)
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills, accurate and meticulous.
  • Excellent customer service skills, enthusiastic and helpful approach.

The successful candidate will be an ambitious graduate (minimum 2:1), looking to work in public policy events.  You will have minimum one years’ experience working in events/content production. First and foremost, you will bring excellent communication, analytical and written skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project management from inception to event sign off, and delivery of key targets / deadlines for each event.
  • Developing and writing of the event programme from start to finish.
  • Desk research and in-depth market research, to ensure viability of programmes, and to maximise each topic.
  • Meeting, inviting and liaising with senior-level speakers, to ensure the most appropriate and appealing line up of speakers on events.
  • Developing relationships with key industry bodies to assist with research, marketing and speaking opportunities.
  • Close collaboration with marketing and operations teams to ensure commercial success.
  • Writing copy for marketing materials and website.
  • Identification of audience, commercial partners and sponsors.
  • Communicating key conference / event updates to the wider team and senior management.
  • Oversee on-the-day event running, including speaker liaisons and relationship management.

Education, Experiences and Competencies:

  • Minimum one year content/event production experience
  • Educated to degree level, 2:1 minimum
  • Flexible team player, with ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to tight deadlines
  • Excellent research, written (including copy writing) and oral communication skills
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills with ability to multi-task effectively
  • Strong interest and/or understanding of government, public sector policy is preferred, but not essential
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite
