We are seeking a highly organised and motivated Customer Success Executive to join our dynamic events and training team. The ideal candidate will have great business development, communication and customer service skills. You will be part of the Commercial Team, selling delegate places to private and public sector professionals from across the UK and beyond. You will play a pivotal role in driving business growth by identifying new leads, managing inbound and outbound outreach efforts, and supporting the development of the conferences division.

The Knowledge Exchange Group produces timely conferences, public policy briefings, interactive workshops and practical training across 3 brands – Westminsterinsight.com, policyinsight.wales and holyroodinsight.com

Reporting to: Commercial Director

Hours: Full time role – 35 hours per week (09:00 – 17:00)

Location: Remote with occasional office visits

Salary: £25,000 plus uncapped commission

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage incoming conference sales from initial enquiries through to booking and payment.
  • Conduct outbound calls to prospective conference delegates.
  • Research and identify potential leads using various tools (e.g., LinkedIn, ‘basket abandonments’, e-mail outreach, CRM, industry reports, past attendees).
  • Present and explain the benefits of attending the conferences to potential clients in a clear and compelling manner.
  • Work collaboratively to prepare sales materials and to create effective and compelling outbound e-mail content.
  • Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and sales activities in our CRM system.
  • Follow up on leads and conduct follow-up calls to nurture relationships.
  • A positive attitude to provide excellent customer service and support throughout the sales process.
  • Troubleshoot customer inquiries and provide solutions.
  • Handle administrative tasks such as processing payments, and inputting bookings on the system.

Hours: Full-time, 35 hours per week (09:00–17:00)

Role Overview

As Senior Marketing Executive, you will lead on delivering high-performing, data-led B2B marketing campaigns, with a core focus on email marketing, CRM optimisation, segmentation and list building. You will also support broader marketing projects, manage key supplier relationships and provide team oversight when the Campaign Marketing Manager is absent.

Key Responsibilities

Email Marketing & CRM Ownership

Lead on the planning, build, segmentation and deployment of all email campaigns for assigned events.

  • Manage and optimise the CRM/database, ensuring accuracy, consistency and continual improvement.
  • Develop advanced segmentation strategies to enhance targeting and conversion.
  • Build detailed mailing lists using demographic, behavioural and thematic data.
  • Monitor and improve email deliverability, list health and engagement metrics.
  • Create and maintain automated and triggered email journeys.
  • Analyse campaign performance and apply insights to enhance future campaigns.

Marketing Project Work & Operational Support

  • Liaise with key external suppliers (e.g., platforms, advertising partners, designers) to ensure smooth and timely delivery of marketing assets.
  • Manage customer-facing email inboxes, ensuring swift, accurate and professional responses and escalating where necessary.
  • Organise and negotiate contra marketing deals with speakers, partners and stakeholders to increase campaign reach.
  • Support and coordinate social media activity for assigned events, including scheduling posts, drafting content and monitoring engagement.
  • Assist in maintaining consistent brand standards across websites, email templates and campaign assets.
  • Undertake additional marketing projects such as database categorisation, website updates, branding initiatives or process improvements.

Campaign Management

  • Deliver comprehensive multi-channel campaigns for approximately four conferences/training courses each month.
  • Develop detailed event marketing project plans and campaign timelines.
  • Build and update event web pages with accurate, engaging content.
  • Manage partnerships with associations, media and directories.
  • Oversee advertising placements across digital and print channels.
  • Ensure all campaigns are delivered within budget and meet deadlines.

Reporting & Insight

  • Produce detailed campaign reports including email analytics, engagement patterns, delegate conversion and ROI.
  • Present insights during board meetings.
  • Recommend data enrichment, CRM improvements and workflow enhancements.

Team Support & Leadership

  • Provide day-to-day guidance to junior marketing team members as required.
  • Act as the senior point of contact and oversee the marketing team in absence of Campaign Marketing Manager.
  • Support the Head of Campaign Marketing with departmental priorities and process improvements.
  • Foster collaboration with production, sales, sponsorship and operations teams.

Skills, Experience & Attributes

Essential

  • Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 18 months2 years’ B2B marketing experience, ideally in events or professional training.
  • Demonstrable expertise in CRM management (e.g. Microsoft Dynamics 365) and high-volume email marketing (e.g., Dotdigital, constant contact, etc).
  • Strong understanding of data segmentation, list management and analytics.
  • Confident working with large databases, filters and structured data.
  • Excellent copywriting skills for email, web and digital content.
  • High level of IT competency, including Microsoft Office, excel, and CRM systems.
  • Strong organisational skills, able to manage multiple deadlines and projects simultaneously.
  • Analytical, detail-oriented, proactive and able to take initiative.
  • Supportive team player with strong communication skills.

Desirable

  • Experience with Adobe Pro, Canva or similar design tools.

At the Knowledge Exchange Group, we organise public policy conferences and training across three brands – Westminster Insight, Policy Insight Wales, Holyrood Insight. The Knowledge Exchange Group delivers over 100 events per annum, both online and in-person. You’ll be marketing an exciting mix of topics. Sectors include local and central government; police and emergency services; HR and Diversity; health and social care; and skills-based online training, to name a few.

This role will provide an excellent opportunity to develop your B2B direct marketing skills, using a mix of marketing methods, such as email, social media, partnership working, digital marketing, SEO, advertising and contra deals.

  • To deliver marketing campaigns within set budgets.
  • To adhere to deadlines, including strategically planning timings and marketing campaigns.
  • To closely monitor marketing campaigns and ROI.
  • To take responsibility for an individual project if when directed; e.g., data categorisation, branding, or website projects.
  • To liaise with other areas of the business, such as production, sales, and sponsorship.
  • To contribute to marketing meetings, to produce analysis and reports for quarterly marketing review meetings.
